Our 6 month old puppy went crazy with donkey! You would think there was something in or on it he wanted. Not sure how durable over time it will be. Materials look substantial. We have a German Shepherd who chews through pretty much any toy you give him. He has very strong, destructive jaws. And, being very smart, he will find the weak point in a toy and go after it almost obsessively. He'll work tirelessly trying to chew it into submission. I don't know how many toys we've gone through. We even did the subscription where they send you indestructible toys every month. Usually, they wouldn't make it until the next shipment. Any of them. And they sent three or four in the box. Anyway, this is our second one of these. He does destroy it, but he's had this one for three months or better and it's just now really showing signs of deterioration. We'll be replacing it soon, but I'm very impressed compared to the countless other toys we've bought over the years.

Our puppy was able to chew off small pieces of the rubber and swallowed some of the bits, which made her extremely sick. She ended up vomiting after ingesting pieces of this toy. I would not recommend this toy, it is not safe especially for dogs that like to chew.
